The story

The danger isn’t far away. It’s underneath them.

Retirement was supposed to bring Tex a quieter life. Then his neighborhood begins to shake. As sickness spreads and easy explanations collapse, the engineer in him refuses to look away.

His search for answers draws him toward an unlikely ally, a powerful company, and a threat whose consequences extend well beyond the property line. To protect the place they call home, two neighbors must turn suspicion into proof before the next tremor becomes the last warning.

From manuscript to screenplay

One story rescued another.

On Fractured Ground began with an unpublished novel manuscript by Richard C. Williams. Douglas N. Wilkinson carried forward its characters, community, central predicament, and destination—then rebuilt the story as a substantially new feature screenplay.
